Blue Ribbon Physiotherapy Pty Ltd trading as Allied Aged Care is a Queensland-based team of dynamic and highly skilled allied health professionals. Despite our name we DON'T just look after aged care clients, we have a practice where we are can provide allied health help to everyone and are part of a community. Our work includes private practice, community work and residential aged care for a variety of clients from disability care and NDIS, workplace injuries management, lymphoedema care, hand therapy, splinting, mental health, pressure management, driving assessments, musculoskeletal therapy,  hydrotherapy (aquatic physiotherapy), functional capacity evaluation, rehabilitation, falls prevention, in-home care, worksite training and even some paediatric clients.

What does a day in the life of an AAC allied health professional look like?

 

While our days are made up of lots of things, big and small, we believe that simple, small actions can have big results. As such, we place a lot of value in each small act of clinical dedication and kindness.

Each day will focus on providing individualised care to each client and, as such, requires a high level of compassion, technical skills, problem-solving ability, professionalism, reporting and confidentiality. During this, you have the opportunity to build your skill level through participating in valuable professional development with our industry-leading portfolio of OT/PT-specific training for your portfolio - including hand therapy, mental health, pressure management, soft tissue therapy, splinting and much more.

 

 

 

This job provides a fabulous blend of autonomy and collaboration with your team members, with the balance of working in residential aged care and the community.

 

 

What do I need to be able to work as an OT or Physio?

 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy

  • Own vehicle and current class "C" Queensland drivers license

  • Experience in aged care is highly regarded but not essential, and we welcome applications from new graduates and chiropractors. (Overseas practitioners are also welcome to apply as we have extensive support from senior OTs & PTs.)

  • Strong relationship-building, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills

  • Genuine sympathy and care towards patients

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to work productively in a team

  • You must be registered to practice as an occupational therapist or physiotherapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (or have the qualifications for us to complete the registration) and pass a police check for working with the aged.
